This is the belt routing diagram for a generic coreXY system.
Below you can see that the belt system is in fact two different colors (blue and red).
This same concept is applied in the Promega, there is an upper loop and lower loop.
01/01/2019 Belt Routing CoreXY belt routing of Ashtar C Early on I decided to separate belts of motors A and B in the Z axis, so they would not cross as such, and also hoped one axis of the carriage holding the X beam would allow some idlers to redirect the belts # to save space and keep frame dimension and build (or printable space) dimension close.
03/08/2018 In corexy mechanisms, when you apply force to one belt (move one of the motors in the Y direction, for example) to change its tension, you also change the tension on the other belt.
When you assemble the mechanism and adjust tension on the first belt , #, Belt Routing.
All the belts should be riding on bearings or driven by pulleys.
If the belt tension became too low during the trip it is possible that one of the belts moved from its desired place.
If you notice a CoreXY belt which is not seated on a bearing or pulley.

CoreXY Belt Path.
The corexy 3d printer belt path has been explored in many mechanical arrangements.
The main two corexy belt routing methods are belts crossed or not crossed.
The main focus should be to keep the belt routing path parallel to the X and Y guide rails.
There#s an excellent blog about corexy belt path by Mark Rehorst here.
The CoreXY and the H-bot are a Cartesian arrangements — they makes it easy to move the head in straight lines along axis 90 degrees from the other axis.
There is a change in the belt pattern from the H-bot arrangement to the CoreXY arrangement.

Mike#s corexy design has the linear rails located on the top of the frame.

Be sure to tension this belt system with the same amount of force.
You can misalign the extruder carriage gantry and your coreXY system will not be square.
To check that your system is properly square, align the extruder gantry with the front frame of the Promega as shown in the image below.
